A History of our Legacy
- 1950's
The Cantalupis work out of their small marine electrical shop in the harbor of Viareggio.
- 1960's
20 year old Bruno Cantalupi decides it is time to go beyond the small fishing boats he has been addressing so far and develops the activity as an electrical contractor on tugboats and cargo ships.
- 1970's
Cantalupi quality reputation spreads and activities expand to Europe, Middle East and America. In these years Cantalupi develops strong basics on quality and reliability as its work was requested the highest standards in the market.
- 1980's
The Yachting industry as we know it today is starting and the expertise and quality work of Cantalupi is requested by some of the most prestigious shipyards in the world.
In these years Cantalupi personnel is involved in the most prestigious projects: the Challenger team at the America’s Cup, the 3 years in a row Offshore World Champion team and private yachting projects of the glamorous international jet set: businessmen, sport champions, actors and princes.
This new industry requires quality products and services not available anywhere else. Cantalupi needs to enter the manufacturing of specially made products; the company expands to 2 larger premises and the Lighting division is born.
- 1990's
Cantalupi develops a worldwide presence to support its products in all seas. The Lighting division grows over 50,000 sqf in operations and in 1999 is set as an independent company by the name of Cantalupi Lighting.
Cantalupi Lighting pioneers the use of LEDs for their remarkably marine suitable characteristics.
Most of the best shipyard in the world use Cantalupi products and services and Cantalupi becomes a standard for the industry.
- 2000's
Cantalupi Lighting enters the world of electronics patenting technologies for LED drivers and controls.
Cantalupi Electric Systems designs, develops and installs full yacht monitoring systems. Cantalupi USA is set in Florida in 2007 to better service the company’s largest export market.
In 2009 Cantalupi USA counting hundreds of satisfied customers in the yachting industry. As a natural consequence of the strong request from yacht owners and designers to have the same look and quality beyond the sea, Cantalupi enters at the Light Fair International in New York the high-end hospitality and residential world.
